Reviewing a Document with Chamelio

Updated over a week ago

The core of Chamelio is its powerful document review engine. It's designed to handle any scenario, whether you're reviewing your own paper or analyzing a contract sent to you.

Choose Your Review Type

From the Review tab, select the type of analysis that fits your task:

  • Playbook Review: Use this when reviewing a document against your Playbook. Chamelio will automatically suggest redlines to make the document conform to your pre-approved positions.

  • General Review: Use this for third-party documents or contracts that don't have a dedicated playbook. You provide the business context, and Chamelio's AI will analyze the document for general risks, missing clauses, and areas for improvement.

  • Redline Review: Use this when you receive a document back with changes from the other party. Chamelio will analyze only their redlines, giving you a fast and focused summary of their position and suggesting counter-edits.

Understanding the Review Panel

After running a review, the Chamelio panel will display all suggestions. Here’s how to navigate it:

  • Simplified Categories: To help you focus on what matters, Chamelio automatically sorts every clause into one of three clear categories:

    • Issues: This category flags any clause that directly conflicts with your playbook instructions. For example, if your playbook requires a $2M liability cap but the contract states $1M, it will be marked as an issue, often with a suggested redline to correct it.

    • Unknown: This highlights a provision in the agreement for which there are no relevant guidelines in your playbook. Chamelio flags these for your manual review, as it cannot determine if the clause is acceptable without a corresponding instruction.

    • Resolved: These are clauses that perfectly align with your playbook's guidelines. You can confidently approve these sections and focus your attention on the outstanding Issues and Unknowns.

  • Instant Redline Suggestions: Review AI-generated redlines directly in the panel. Click to accept, reject, or modify any suggestion.

  • Clear Justifications: Every suggestion is tied to a specific instruction from your playbook or a risk analysis, so you always understand the "why" behind the change.

  • Alternative Positions: Instantly access pre-approved fallback positions and view similar clauses from past agreements to negotiate with confidence.

  • Direct Feedback: Provide instant feedback on suggestions with our simple reporting system. Your input feeds directly into our recommendations engine, improving your playbook performance.
